There’s nothing better than a little sewing bee and some cake.
I don’t sew or craft nearly as much as I want to (or should do) so when Hilarys blinds invited me to the tearooms at Butterfly & Pig for an afternoon of crafting and cake I just couldn’t say no! After all my last proper craft was personalised gifts a lifetime ago! Surrounded by vintage plates, frames and ornaments I got into the spirit and felt like I’d stepped back in time! Being surrounded by 30 babes on International Women’s day was perfect, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it.
First craft was a book cover, this is basically a fabric version of a wallpaper/poster cover you used to make in primary school! Except this looks way better and is actually easier to make. Second was a super cute bird, except mine was described as a ‘special dolphin’…I didn’t get a photo of the finished product as I couldn’t stop laughing…a degree in garment technology and I can’t make a stuffed bird! THE SHAME.
Failures aside I will definitely be carrying on the crafting, and all the DIY distressed/customised clothes! After all, there’s no better way to update your wardrobe!
Oh and the cake was DELICIOUS.
I went for white chocolate and pear, I will be going back for more!
