There is no denying it, winter is here and with the plummeting temperatures it’s time to wrap up.
It can be hard not to look like the michelin man when you are wearing four layers but if you choose them carefully you will still look cute, and more importantly be warm.
Make sure you start with the basics, I’m not talking thermal underwear unless your in the highlands that is! Winter may be here but I still want to rock a bare leg, however I don’t want to freeze to death so I’ve opted for some nude tights. I know I know, no one likes the shiny disco tights look so luckily these are from Wolford and are pretty much the rolls royce of hosiery! They are like a second skin and will keep the chill off your legs. Play with fabrics, I popped on a silk shirt under my dress, which I picked up in a charity shop for £4! Vintage and 100% lambswool none the less, check out my previous post for some vintage shopping tips. I know a sleeveless coat is not the most practical as you know, no sleeves and all but it’s surprisingly warm and great for layering.
For those really cold days the best thing to do it pop on a cape, they are warm, versatile and whilst they may look like a giant blanket when first worn, add a belt to cinch in your waist and no matter how much excess fabric there is you will have a perfect silhouette.
