The other half and I decided to take a little trip to Edinburgh the other day for a bit of shopping, sightseeing and an epic pampering sesh!
We met in the morning for a wander around Stockbridge and a coffee at the adorable Pantry coffee shop. Afterwards we popped into the new Aesop store for a look around & to try out some of their amazing cruelty free skincare, they even do pet shampoo!
I love walking around Edinburgh, especially in the winter with the festive feel in the air, plus the sandstone townhouses are just stunning! We wandered through town via the castle (because you can’t go without at least a look!) to Sygn for some lunch, I had the cauliflower burger and it was delicious, who knew that griddled cauliflower could taste so amazing?! We ended up having to hide there for a couple of hours as it started raining obviously. As it’s currently freezing I went with my favourite checked coat with a victorian style shirt and faux leather skirt from Scottish Designer Nicci .N. I love the monochrome base with the colour pop of the coat & bag but I must admit my favourite part of this look has to be my tights! I’m not usually a fan of tights, even in winter, but after trying the Wolford Pure touch tights I was hooked. As soon as I saw these Polka Dot Babies I had to have them, so much better than the standard spotty tights don’t you think? The tights may be nude but they are thick enough to keep chilly legs warm, plus the colour is beautiful, pale but still natural looking, they don’t call Wolford the Rolls Royce of Hosiery for nothing!
Our day in Edinburgh ended with a trip to the Lush Spa. From our consultation to after care the whole experience was personal, intimate and thoroughly thought out. I’m not lying when I say it’s the best smelling spa I’ve ever been in, it also helps that the whole spa has a real ‘home’ feel, serious decor envy right there!
Rich picked the Good hour Massage which he assured me was amazing, I went for Synaesthesia and the best description is probably WOW. From picking what I wanted my massage to be, to choosing my scent (which you do by word and colour, no smelling allowed!) the whole experience was extremely calming, so much so that when I got out I sat in a dream like state for a good half an hour, it’s a good thing they give you tea and snacks after because it took me a while to acclimatise back into the real world. This massage will definitely transport you to another place, or in my case put you to sleep! I would thoroughly recommend treating yourself or putting this down on your Christmas whishlist.

[…] The Spa is in the basement but it is not alone, they also have all their perfume down there and a little chill out area. The spa is the same (if not a little bigger) than all other Lush Spa’s. It looks like a farmhouse kitchen, instantly welcoming and calming. You can read all about my experience in the Lush spa & what treatment I went for here. […]
