Wake up and smell the roses.

It’s easy to forget to appreciate the little things in life, I am completely guilty of this! I get so wrapped up inside my own head that sometimes I forget to open my eyes (not literally, I wouldn’t get very far). Every once in a while I like to go for a wander somewhere new, sometimes on my own, sometimes with my other half and the dogs. You’ll be surprised what you come across if you just pause to look.

Whilst we were all at a staff lunch at West I took a little walk down to the fountain in Glasgow Green with one of our photographers for an impromptu little shoot, not because I thought the fountain was beautiful but because I thought it would be a cool backdrop…well wasn’t I surprised! The fountain is HUGE, it’s the biggest terracotta fountain in the world IN THE WORLD! How cool is that? Not only is it massive it’s also stunning, restored in 2005 the Victorian sculpture really takes your breath away.
I couldn’t resist throwing on a headscarf with my new polo dress, maybe it’s all the Amy Winehouse I’ve been listening to recently (have you seen the movie yet?) but I can’t wait until my hair is long enough to rock a beehive! When the sun shines in Glasgow I am straight to bare legs, it doesn’t happen that often so I need to take advantage! Luckily this is one of those dresses you can just throw on & not worry about accessorising, there is a serious lack of non floaty day dresses on the high street at the moment and this little baby fits that description perfectly. Pair with some converse & a backpack for a super causal look, headscarf/beehive optional.
Shop the look:
Vintage headscarf
Stacked bracelets from Annie Haak
Cross bone & heart ring from BMM
Abandon Ship Apparel polo shirt dress
Matt & Nat Backpack

OH HAY GURRL how do you make something so simple look so damn good?

I think I'm the only bride to get married at WEST that didn't use this fountain as a backdrop, ha ha.

I really need to take a leaf out of your book and start making the most of my city rather than always looking to the next place to explore. Also I absolutely love the headscarf with you hair colour.
