Into the woods

There’s no denying that Aviemore is beautiful, stunning views of the Cairngorm mountains, amazing beaches and all the wildlife you could ask for.

We spent most of the day on Loch Morlich beach in the middle of the Glenmore forest park. The beach is beautiful and the views will take your breath away…so will the wind! The park is full of ancient trees, I couldn’t help myself I had to climb in this one, the photos do not do it justice, it was HUGE. The tree was called ‘Granddad’, it had a little name plaque and was covered with the most amazing colours of moss, I fell in love with the mint green colour, it made everything look so ethereal.

After playing in trees we headed into Aviemore centre (which is adorable fyi) for a cup of tea. We ended up at Active Cafaidh which is basically an all you need outdoor store with a little cafe above. We went in to try on some ski gear, how cute is this helmet? The cafe is really small and warm, just what you need on a cold January afternoon! Tea and cake was just what we needed and I can honestly say that it was the best scone I have ever had, and I love a good scone! We headed out to do some little charity/highland shops and I managed to grab myself an amazing bargain… a Preen coat! Outfit post coming soon I promise.

I think I’ve fallen in love with the highlands, any tips on places to visit next?

I used to holiday to Aviemore with my family and I had so much fun sledging there – now we tend to go to Altbea/Ullapool area in the Highlands for hill walks and beautiful scenery like the type in your pictures! Love your outfit too 🙂 x
