A Hawaiian print with a twist

August 14, 2015
When one of your BFF’s has their birthday bash in a Tiki Bar you go big or go home! I love any excuse to dress up and this was one opportunity I wasn’t going to miss. Luckily the sun decided to shine so my bare legs and wedges didn’t look like I’d lost my mind, or forgot what country I’m in…summer where are you?!
When I think of a Hawaiian theme I immediately think of Hawaiian shirts, or grass skirts and ill-fitting coconut bras.
But Luckily for me, and everyone else on the planet, I found an adorable Hawaiian print two-piece from Tallulah’s Threads. No coconut bra in sight.
The colour is what drew me to the co-ord set, it’s bright and fun without being overpowering or too kitsch, it also reminds me of the Prada 2014 resort collection which is never a bad thing! There’s nothing that makes me think sandy beaches like a good pair of wedges so I opted for my trusty woven grey ones. A nude clutch is a must-have and complimented this busy outfit without being overpowering or distracting.

This outfit definitely needed some extra flowers and popping some in your hair can really add a bit of vintage glamour to an outfit. I kept the rest of my accessories simple with a mixture of stacking brackets and rings in sliver and turquoise. I love how playful this look is, maybe next time I wear it I’ll be on the beach…a girls gotta dream right?
