Thoughts for 2015

This post started off it’s life as a NYE outfit inspiration post, but rather than share fashion tips with you guys I thought I’d delve a little deeper. For me NYE has always been about spending time with the people you love the most. When I was younger my parents used to stay up to the bells, have a wee dram of whiskey with their closest friends and that was that, and I think I learned from the best. My NYE celebrations have never been as quiet as a little nip of whiskey but I have always made sure I’ve been surrounded by my nearest and dearest, usually that means a house party where we all get a little tipsy, more than a little emotional at the bells, sing auld lang syne at the top of our lungs and dance our way around a kitchen and into the new year. This is the time when you remember the people who are no longer here, and take joy in the ones who still are.

Instead of making resolutions for 2015, because let’s be honest no one is giving up chocolate anytime soon….least of all me, vow to be a bolder person, to think of others, to write, to sing, to love yourself more, to be cruelty free, to buy locally, to go dancing more, plan a holiday, plan a body/house/soul overhaul as long as it makes you happy then go for it, because the new year is waiting…are you ready for it?
