Pencil skirt styling and my love of colour.

When Scot Campus asked all the staff at Abandon Ship to take part in their ‘today I’m wearing section’ we obviously said yes. Head over to their website to see what the rest of the guys are wearing.

There is just something about winter that draws me to colour, not that I was fully monochrome before but I think it’s my way of saying fuck you winter, I’m not wearing black, I’m going to wear as may colours as possible and you can take your black boring coat’s/jumpers/scarves and jump.

On top of colour this is the season for layering. I am totally in love with the Reiver tartan from Abandon Ship Apparel, it comes in a variety of styles but the pencil skirt has to be my favourite. Pencil skirts are always a wardrobe staple for me, I find them really versatile! It goes perfectly with my powder blue jumper and lace front shirt, I also have a white tshirt on underneath! The pink highlight in the skirt matches my pink bag perfectly and for a bit of brightness I’ve added the pink school socks, and a vintage pastel belt with gold buckles to match the buckles on my boots. My leather biker is also vintage.

Working in an office does give me the luxury of no tights or big coat but if I was heading out in this I’d add some patterned sheer tights, keep the socks obviously, a long oversized wool biker coat in pale grey and a cute Abandon Ship beanie hat

Have you seen the Reiver collection? What’s your favourite piece?
