Finding the Perfect Bra…

Buying underwear is always a bit of a trial for me, having a size 28 back makes the amount of stores I can actually shop in dramatically lower than most of my girls and that’s never fun so you can imagine my joy when I find out that Boux Avenue have introduced a 28 back to most of their styles! Now instead of trolling shops to find a 28 back I can now just head straight there and shop till I drop! I popped into the Glasgow store to have a look around and fell in love. The staff are super helpful (one was wearing my favourite Karen Mabon Glasgow scarf) and my first impressions were wonderful, I had a look around and picked up about 20 bras to try on! After speaking to my fitter (the lovely Debi) we managed to narrow them down! I’ve picked out my favourite three from their SS collection; Amber, Tamara and Amber strappy.

Amber is a sparkly lace vintage dream, I mean who in their right mind says no to a high waisted pant?! They literally look good on EVERYONE. I really liked the style of this one, the thick straps give a little more support and colour combined with the lace and the shape give it a really vintage feel.

Tamara oh Tamara Tamara, what can I say? Apart from that I’ve fallen in love with you. This powder blue set screams spring to me, cotton dresses, barefoot in the grass, bouquets of daffodils, what more could a girl ask for? The bra is structured beautifully and comes with super cute little shorts. Perfect spring set.

Amber Strappy is that little bit different, with a removable strap that creates a ‘cage’ and a little peek – a – boo centre it is a little more daring. Powder pink and black lace are always a good pairing and I would love to rock this under a sheer black shirt.

Not only do Boux Avenue do swimwear but it also comes in proper sizes and yes they start at a 28 back! The Hollywood Gingham has to be my favourite, inspired by movie stars of the 50’s (think Grace Kelly in Jamaica) it has a halterneck strap and gathered front creating a beautiful sweetheart neckline. The high waisted pants are my favourite part to be honest as they have a very flattering ruffle around the bottom, it makes me think of a pin up mermaid, and thats never a bad thing!

You'd make an amazing pin-up mermaid in that swimsuit!

Sadly Boux Avenue doesn't cater to the likes of me, but those are some gorgeous selections.

Great post. I didn't realise they did so many sizes, I am a 30 back and really struggle to find my cup size. I will definitely be heading here soon x

I find it really hard too! I'm either a 28DD or a 30D, nightmare to find usually but they have a great selection, will be grabbing some of their sized swimwear for my holidays too! xxx
