bright prints and swap shops

Last night I went along to the Glad Cafe for their second ever swap shop. The whole thing was to raise awareness for ethical fashion, which as they so eloquently put last night ‘doesn’t have to be made of hemp or be beige’. I am all for ethical fashion…I wrote my dissertation on it(!), plus I love supporting independent designers and small brands.
So the Swap shop started with a blogger challenge featuring BettyLynsay and a few others styling models in ethically designed clothes then a little talk about why it’s important to recycle and reuse your clothes. Then came the main event! When you dropped off your clothes to swap you were given coloured tokens to spend on the night, so if you dropped off vintage or designer you got a better token than if you just dropped off high street but to be honest all the rails were full of amazing clothes! AND whats left from the night goes over to the Glad Rags Thrift store to raise money for local projects….good deeds all round!

I can’t wait to style what I swapped my clothes for, let’s just say I managed to bag a silk cos shirt and a brand new Topshop crop along with some vintage goodies!!

My outfit for the night was inspired by the sudden appearance of spring, Glasgow was sunny and for the first time this year I went out sans jacket! My bag is from the 2D wonder company that is Jump from Paper and matches my River Island printed jeans perfectly <3

Shirt – Primark
Belt – Vintage
Jeans – River Island
Shoes – Topshop
Bag – Jump from Paper

Have you been along to Glad rags cafe and the adorable Glad rags thrift store yet?
