Last year I declared Valentines Day a “Day of Self Love”, and this year I am carrying on the tradition.
There is no better day to hijack than Valentines to practice self love. All hair Anti Valentines Day!
Everywhere is booked out with cooing couples, Facebook is full of declarations of love and you can’t leave your house without seeing an arrow from cupids bow shoot past you.
It’s the perfect opportunity to spoil yourself. So do whatever you want; order that takeaway you never let your self have, buy that jumper you’ve wanted for ages, stay in bed all day, or just light every single candle you have and go for a super long bath. It’s all about YOU!
Last year I had the most epic bath known to man, this year I’ve decided to buy the things I really want, and then spend the day in BED! I’m going to re-read my favourite books, eat popcorn, watch movies and snuggle up with the dogs because I honestly can’t remember the last day I just lazed about that wasn’t due to an epic hangover.
January sucks, it’s been cold, wet, and full of sadness (I may be being a bit melodramatic here!) but everyone I know, myself included, has been strapped for cash. So on this newly appointed “International Day of Self Love” I have decided to buy a few things I’ve been coveting, and nap alllll day loooong.
First off we have some jewellery, because you can’t really go wrong with jewellery can you? I have a small obsession with Annie Haak and when their valentines collection popped into my inbox I knew I had to grab something for myself.
I’ve wanted a little personalised bracelet for ages and this locket inspired beauty was just too perfect to pass up. On something of a heart theme I also picked the three heart ring and another beaded ring to stack with the ones I already have, to finish off I went for the open heart bracelet.
There is nothing better than some cosy pjs, but what if you need something a little more? I love snuggling up in knitwear and since the Ragged Priest released this pastel dream I have been drooling over her, it also helps for day time napping, especially as there is no heating in our bedroom and it can get mighty cold!
Plus I can wear it everywhere and you won’t even be able to tell if I’ve sept in it or not…all hail the fuzzy cutie pie jumper.
Nah I’m joking I would never actually wear my beautiful ChouChou to bed BUT you can imagine how comfy it would be!
Last but certainly not least is one of my favourite t-shirts from the new Abandon Ship collection, based around love, it’s perfect for a Valentines gift. Especially for yourself! The Cat Love T-shirt is adorable and comes in a raglan too, I’m not sure the girls agree with me about having a cat on my top though?!
I for one am excited about lounging around this anti valentines day, now all I have to do is decide what to wear to bed.
