Traditionally I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, but who can resist some pink Valentine’s Day Cocktail’s?!
Valentine’s day is usually all about gift giving, and that doesn’t sit well with me. you can read all of my thoughts on Valentine’s Day here.
“It’s ONE DAY, one day we are supposed to show the most important person in our lives what they mean to us, and we are supposed to do it in this standard way, with gifts, flowers, cards and chocolates. It takes the surprise out of any romance and in my opinion, puts too much pressure on everyone involved. Let’s face it, we’d all rather be taken out on a whirlwind romantic date on a random Tuesday night, and we’d much rather be sent some flowers ‘just because’, instead of social pressure.”
That being said, if people want to celebrate Valentine’s Day they should. Just as long as it’s not the ONLY day they spoil their other halves. There is one thing I love about Valentine’s Day though, when all of my favourite things turn pink! From stationery, homeware, clothing & cocktails, everything is given a pink twist and I can’t get enough of it. You all know I’m a gin lover and when I saw that Gordon’s had a pink twist I just had to try out some Valentine’s Day Cocktail’s!
Valentine’s Day Cocktail’s
Gordon’s Pink & Tonic
Fill a short glass with ice cubes, pour in 50ml of Gordon’s Pink, top up with tonic water or chilled lemonade depending on your preference. To finish off garnish the cocktail with wedges of fresh strawberries. Perfectly light and refreshing!
Gordon’s Pink Spritz
For a delicious twist, try a Gordon’s Pink Spritz! Add some ice cubes to a large glass, then add 50ml Gordon’s Pink, 50ml lemonade and 25ml prosecco. If you are looking to mix things up a bit then add some elderflower cordial instead of the lemonade! Pop some mint & strawberries on top and you’ll have a show-stopping cocktail.
Have a lovely day whatever and whenever you are celebrating and remember to drink your Valentine’s Day Cocktail’s responsibly!
