There’s a new burger joint in town and it caters for EVERYONE.
Have you tried courgette fries yet? Or a milkshake with Irn Bru and Bourbon? How about Fredder? Or Soda Folk cream soda? If you’ve answered no to two or more then you need to get your ass to Byron Burger.
Now I know what you are thinking, ‘not another fucking burger chain’ and I get it, Glasgow has it’s fair share of sub standard burger joints (it also has some amazing ones too) but Byron has its own appeal, the food is brilliant, the sides are worth a visit alone, there are alcoholic milkshakes and they even have their own cheese.
I went for the mushroom burger without the goats cheese (they are very accommodating to all diets), courgette fries, coleslaw, chipotle dip, miso dip, sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. The table shared the sides I didn’t eat everything on my own! The burger was amazing, and I’ve eaten my fair share of mushroom burgers, the bun was slightly sweet, the toppings of onion, tomato and lettuce were the perfect amount and the size was just right, no mini mushroom in sight! I am a little disappointed I couldn’t try the Fredder cheese as it has Grana Padano in it, but I have asked head chef Fred to see if he can create a cheese just as good for us veggies! The sides stole the show for me, and the courgette fries were the cream of the crop, try them with the chipotle dip, they will blow your mind. As well as all the amazing food we drank some hard shakes, my favourite has to be the Irn Bru one, it tasted nothing like I expected which is a good thing because I expected it to be gross! We finished the night with some Oreo Cheesecake….which again was amazing.
