vegan backpacks & vintage shirts

April 23, 2015
It’s not every day you fall in love, and not just with a product but with a whole brand. Matt & Nat are a super ethical, environmentally friendly, vegan brand from Montreal and their bags are breathtaking. An exaggeration you might think but just have a look for yourself!

Their environmental message is strong and their creative use of recycled fabrics is inspiring, all linings are made from recycled bottles. How cool is that?! Also vegan backpack? Best Addition to my wardrobe in ages!
From the start, being committed to not using leather or any other animal-based materials in our designs felt natural to us. Each season, we continue to explore new innovative ways to remain sustainable and eco-friendly. Over the years, we’ve been experimenting with different recycled materials such as recycled nylons, cardboard, rubber and cork. Since 2007, we’ve been committed to using linings only made out of 100% recycled plastic bottles. We have also recently introduced recycled bicycle tires to our collections.

The backpack thing is something I’ve been meaning to buy into for ages and when I saw this beauty I knew she had to be mine, her name is Peltola and she also comes in cream, poppy and black. They also do a massive range from clutches to overnight bags with a large accessories selection. I decided to go for a super casual look and possibly ended up looking a little girl scout in the process…I just need one of those sashes and some badges. Vintage shopping is one of my favourite things to do, you just find some total gems. This shirt still had the labels on, I love how oversized it is but I do wish it was slightly longer so I have the option of wearing it as a dress, it does work perfectly as an oversized shirt though.
I went for a wander with some of the girls before lunch (we went to Nippon Kitchen and it was amazing as always) and I couldn’t resist getting some snaps in front of this blue door, I’ve always had a thing for massive coloured doors, the more unusual the better! I think I’ll need to get some storm doors so I can constantly paint them a new colour, although I think I would have to have a massive door knocker, possibly a lion’s head like you see on the townhouses in Kensington.
A girl can dream, can’t she?
