The AW16 runways were choc full of amazing shoes, but what trend stood out? Socks and Sandals!
There was not a whisp of sheer nylon in sight, AW16 is set to be full of chunky knit socks and your toes will thank you for it!
Pairing your socks with heels, sandals or wedges is very simple, there are no rules here. You can go for a cotton sock with a pair of peep toe stilettos, or little frilly numbers with wedges, the styling opportunities are endless but my favourite has to be a thick sock with some chunky heels. So expect to see some of that in the very near future.
My Outfit for day 1 of LFW had to be practical, we had a 6am train (gross right?), three meetings and one fitting all before the Harris Tweed Showcase. So I basically had to be able to rush about and be comfy at the same time. Jeans were never going to be an option as I hate travelling in them, they are far too restrictive and for a 5 hour train comfort is top priority. I opted for a shirt dress from the white pepper, with a vintage belt and a super cute ASOS bag. The weather in London is ALWAYS warmer than Scotland so I went for a vintage leather jacket and faux fur stole. My sale haul sandals got their first outing, but as it’s still technically winter I opted for a pair of black cotton socks too. Not only were my feet nice and warm but I love how the black socks contrast the colour and highlight the straps on the sandals perfectly.
All hail socks and sandals.
