Sarah Hill make up – tested on Grannies

Sarah Hill make up may be new on the scene but it has been 5 years in the making, inspired by fashion, club kids & chain smoking aunties the brand is non conformist and full of fun, just the way we like our make up! It all started because #girlboss Sarah (founder of Hope ST magazine & the Make up Academy) wanted to create the perfect foundation, one that let your skin breathe and your freckles shine through & we’re so happy she did!

Designed in Scotland and made in NYC the brand encompasses a playful off duty aesthetic and offers everything from face primer & foundation through to insanely moisturising lipsticks and high pigment glitters. Oh and did I mention it’s completely CRUELTY FREE?! The only thing thats not vegan is the lip pencil & they are working on that too, so exciting to have a brand conceived in Glasgow to be completely against animal testing, the brand motto? Tested on Grannies. Brilliant.

As if the make up wasn’t enough Sarah created a show room environment for her store, it’s so beautiful I pretty much want to live in it! Covered in ivy & white washed floors it creates the perfect backdrop to display the make up, it make’s the store so inviting and is a very calm shopping experience, it also helps that the staff will never push you into buying anything, want to try some glitter but aren’t sure if you dare buy it? Go for it! Need a lippy update but don’t know which colour suits? Have a look then think about it. The store includes a little play area where you can try before you buy and get some help if you have any questions! It also has the perfect light for selfies, so if you end up getting glammed up to the nines, or just popping on a bright lip or coloured eyeshadow it’s the perfect instagram opportunity!

This is the most laid back shopping experience you can have outside of your house…and I’m sure Sarah wouldn’t mind if you turned up in you PJ’s with a bottle of wine, just bring enough to share!

Now on to my must have products, I had a hard time picking let me tell you! These are my personal favourites but I urge you to try and find out for yourselves.

1. The Luxury face primer is like silk on the skin, only use a tiny drop and it will keep your face in place all day long and make sure your skin doesn’t go thirsty. £26
2. I could write an essay on how much I love this lippy! Super moisturising & it lasts for ages, the colours are bright and fun! I went for the …… as I have been on the hunt for the perfect blush nude lippy. Happy to say the hunt is over! £16
3. Now I know what your thinking…and no this will not give you cracked 90’s foundation stick coverage, this gem is lightweight & packed with vitamins to keep your skin nourished, it’s also fragrance & paraben free for all my sensitive skin sisters. I actually use this as a concealer as it blends beautifully, love a multi use product! £28
4. I had to save the best for last! This baby is worlds away from any glitter you’ve ever popped on your eyelids, super pigmented it comes in a plethora of colours and can be applied to the eyelid, lips, cheeks, hair or anywhere else you wanna put it. If you follow me on instagram you will have seen me rocking the gold glitter on a number of occasions! Top Tip – use some eye cream as a base for holding the glitter in place or some eye primer but if you want a more grungy look grab a little vaseline and press the glitter into it with a brush. £16.50

So be that bright orange lip in a sea of beige and let your glitter covered soul run free.
