So let’s start at the beginning, I’ve been bleaching my hair since I was 16, as a result it’ll grow to my shoulders and stop, thin at the ends no matter how much I take care of it.
I have wanted mermaid worthy hair for YEARS but no matter what I did (or didn’t do) my hair was having none of it. So I decided to get extensions. I deliberated with myself for ages, I thought people would think me superficial, shallow, an airhead. And then I had an epiphany, who cares? Although it took me almost 30 years to have the self confidence to realise that it really doesn’t matter what people think of you, you have to be true to yourself.
Even if it is just all about hair.
The same goes for cosmetic surgery, diets and exercise. I feel like lately there has been a weird stigma around bloggers who have gotten plastic surgery, or anyone for that matter! This person has not liked a part of their body and they have changed it to feel better in themselves, and to be honest who is anyone to judge? I’ve been toying with the idea of plastic surgery for a couple of years, and if I had the money it probably would be done already, or maybe not, I might be covered head to toe in tattoos but it’s just another form of body modification isn’t it? You make your body in the image you want it to be, whether it’s through your diet and exercise, the way you dress or the changes you make cosmetically, the most important thing to remember? It’s YOUR body, so you can do whatever the hell you like to it. Be positive, confident and just ignore the haters! (Did I just say haters?).
There is so much pressure from the media to look a certain way that it’s important to remember no one is ever going to live up to that insane standard, not that beauty blogger who has the perfect face or that celebrity with the perfect ass, it’s not possible. What we need to remember is that we are all beautiful, with and without cosmetic changes. As the wise Raold Dahl said;
“if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely”
So think positively & if you want your lips filled or your boobs bigger then do exactly what you want to do. Like I said before…this body is yours and you can do as much or as little to it as you want.
